The Braves and the Yankees met for the second time this decade on Saturday October 23 for the start of the World Series. The Yankees made it into the series with relative ease, beating the Texas Rangers three games to zero in the Division Series and then beating the Boston Red Sox four games to one in the ALCS. The Braves beat the Houston Astros three games to one and the New York Mets four games to two to make it to the World Series. The Yankees, however, made easy work of the Braves sweeping them and sweeping the World Series two years in a row. They have now tied they're own record of twelve straight World Series victories.
